Weather Punta de Mita
What’s the weather like in beautiful Punta de Mita?
Punta de Mita, in the Mexican state of Nayarit, is located 30 miles northwest of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco and has a sub-tropical climate. It is located on the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands and receives on average 345 days of tropical sunshine a year. The high season, which runs November through May, will generally have warm, sunny weather with comfortable nights. We suggest guests bring a shawl or light sweater for the evenings.
Summers are sunny, with an increase in humidity and temperature. The rainy season runs from June to October. Rain typically falls in the early evening or at night, which allows outdoor activities in the sun for the better part of the day. Many times the storm clouds will hit the mountains behind Puerto Vallarta, which is at the base of the Bay of Banderas, but leave the northern point of Punta de Mita dry, so that one can watch the dramatic lightning and thunder show from the rooftop deck and a safe distance.
